The high school football season continued in Ohio last week, as many of the top programs in the Buckeye State were in action. Plenty of interesting results followed.

Another jam-packed slate is on deck as teams continue their quests for a state title. Below are the top 25 Ohio high school football teams, according to the Massey Ratings, as of Oct. 20.

1. St. Edward Eagles

The Eagles took the top spot in the Ohio high school football rankings after defeating Archbishop Moeller 35-10. Scoring 21 first-quarter points was enough to secure their eighth victory in nine games. St. Edward will return to action against Archbishop Hoban on October 24.

2. Elder Panthers

The Panthers have won nine consecutive games after defeating Indiana’s Bishop Chatard 28-7. Elder can complete an undefeated 2025 regular season by beating Michigan’s De La Salle Collegiate on the 24th.

3. Olentangy Orange Pioneers

The Pioneers are at 9-0 after a 38-14 victory against Hilliard Bradley. Next on Olentangy Orange’s schedule is a matchup against Olentangy Liberty on the 24th.

4. Archbishop Moeller Crusaders

The Crusaders suffered their third loss in the 2025 Ohio high school football season. It’s their worst loss by far because their first two defeats were by nine points. Archbishop Moeller can bounce back by winning their regular season finale against Muskegon on October 25.

5. Bishop Watterson Eagles

The Eagles remain undefeated after a 49-12 beatdown of Northwest. Drew Bellisari had an all-around game with 137 passing yards, 90 rushing yards, and five touchdowns (three rushing). Bishop Watterson will travel to St. Charles Prep on the 24th.

6. Anderson Raptors

The Raptors have won nine consecutive games following a 37-30 outcome against Winton Woods. Outscoring the Warriors with a 20-7 third quarter kept their undefeated streak going. Anderson will face Loveland for their regular season finale on October 24.

7. Highland Hornets

For the seventh straight game, the Hornets have limited their opponent to single-digit scoring. In their latest victory against Revere, Highland scored 42 of their 49 points in the first half. The Hornets will finish the 2025 Ohio high school football season against Cuyahoga Falls on the 24th.

8. St. Xavier Bombers

After losing back-to-back games, the Bombers are on a three-game winning streak after defeating St. Ignatius 41-7. St. Xavier saved the best for last, scoring the most points in a game this season.

9. Avon Eagles

The Eagles would have been undefeated if not for their three-point loss to Spruce Creek. Their latest result was a 43-12 domination of Avon Lake, the first time they’ve surrendered points in their last three games. Avon will travel to Elyria for their regular season closer on October 24.

10. Walsh Jesuit Warriors

The Warriors made light work of St. Vincent-St. Mary, 51-7. It would have been a shutout victory if not for the Fighting Irish’s touchdown with seven minutes left in regulation. Walsh Jesuit will finish the 2025 Ohio high school football regular season against Trotwood-Madison on the 24th.
