The high school football season continued in Ohio last week, as many of the top programs in the Buckeye State were in action. Plenty of interesting results followed.

Another jam-packed slate is on deck as teams continue their quests for a state title. Below are the top 25 Ohio high school football teams, according to the Massey Ratings, as of Oct. 6.

1. Elder Panthers

The Panthers claimed the top spot in the Ohio high school football rankings after a 24-16 victory against Archbishop Moeller. Kaden Estep led the Elder offense with 281 passing yards and three touchdowns, while Jackson Ruth caught two of those scoring throws as part of his 162-yard performance. On defense, Derek Uran had nine tackles, including a sack. Now at 7-0, the Panthers can remain undefeated by winning over Highlands on October 10.

2. St. Edward Eagles

The Eagles have won two in a row after defeating St. Ignatius. While St. Edward didn’t score points in the fourth quarter, their double-digit scoring in the first three was enough to secure their sixth victory in seven games. The Eagles will return to action against Clarkson North on October 10.

3. Archbishop Moeller Crusaders

The Crusaders’ four-game winning streak ends at Elder’s hands. Despite that defeat, Matt Ponatoski deserves credit for his 219 passing yards and two touchdown throws that went to Cooper McCutchan and Reggie Watson. Ricardo Harris was also a beast on defense with his three sacks and eight total tackles. Archbishop Moeller will try to get back on the winning track against St. Ignatius on the 10th.

4. Anderson Raptors

The Raptors earned their seventh straight win against Turpin 58-16. Quarterback Owen Scalf had his way against the Spartans, finishing with 313 passing yards, 54 rushing yards, and six touchdowns (five passing). Anderson’s 2025 Ohio high school football season will continue against Walnut Hills on October 10.

5. Highland Hornets

6. Walsh Jesuit Warriors

After losing to Archbishop Hoban, the Warriors responded with a 49-0 victory against Bishop Hartley. While they’ve already suffered defeat, Walsh Jesuit hasn’t allowed any of its opponents to score 20 points. The Warriors continue their 2025 schedule against St. Vincent-St. Mary on October 17.
