Ohio State HC Ryan Day's son, RJ, unofficially sets school single-game passing record

In St. Francis DeSales (OH) 33-29 win over Ashland on Friday night in a OHSAA Region 7 playoff game, Stallions’ junior quarterback RJ Day, son of Ohio State head coach Ryan Day, unofficially set a school record.

According to a post by the school on Friday night, Day unofficially threw for what would be a school-record 482 yards, three touchdowns. RJ Day is rated a three-star quarterback prospect and is ranked No. 32 out of the state of Ohio and 61st amongst signal callers of the 2027 class.

Earlier this season, Day had one of his best performances against Columbus Africentric Early College, a 35-18 victory, which the junior completed 16 of 19 passes for 275 yards and five touchdowns back on Sep. 5. The junior signal caller also led the Stallions to a thrilling 23-21 win over Harrison when he completed a clutch 22-yard pass in the waning moments, setting up the game-winning field goal for St. Francis DeSales.

Last season at St. Francis DeSales, Day completed 51 of 78 passes for 753 yards and five touchdowns. Day currently holds offers from teams like Akron, Boston College, Bowling Green, Miami (Ohio) and Syracuse.
