Pennsylvania High School Football Rankings: Top 25 Teams - Oct. 26

The high school football regular season concluded for most teams in Pennsylvania last week, and the top programs in the Keystone State are now focused on the postseason.

Another jam-packed slate is on deck as teams continue their quests for a state title. Below are the top 25 Pennsylvania high school football teams, according to the Massey Ratings, as of Oct. 26.

1. La Salle College (8-1)

The Explorers whipped Father Judge 56-7 on Friday, securing their second-straight Red Division championship. La Salle College will face off against St. Joseph’s Prep on Saturday in a game that will determine which team advances to the PIAA District 12 final.

2. Central Catholic (10-1)

The Vikings rolled to 45-10 victory over Canon-McMillan, logging their ninth-straight win and securing the No. 1 seed in the 2025 WPIAL 6A playoff bracket. Central Catholic and Canon-McMillan will face off again on Nov. 7 to see who advances to play either North Allegheny or Norwin for the Class 6A championship and a spot in the PIAA tournament.

3. St. Joseph’s Prep School (5-4)

The Hawks routed Cardinal O’Hara on Friday, 38-3. Four-star sophomore receiver Jett Harrison scored three touchdowns in the win. St. Joseph’s will play La Salle College on Saturday for a spot in the PIAA District 12 final.

4. Malvern Prep (7-1)

The Friars ended Episcopal Academy‘s undefeated season on Friday, 24-0, in a key Inter-Academic Conference showdown. Malvern Prep‘s season continues Saturday with a game against William Penn Charter.

5. Peters Township (10-0)

The Indians wrapped up an undefeated regular season with a 35-0 win over Bethel Park on Friday. Peters Township earned the No. 2 seed and a first-round bye in the 2025 WPIAL 5A playoff bracket. The team will host the winner of Bethel Park-North Hills on Nov. 7.

6. Pine-Richland (9-1)

The Rams concluded the regular season with a 49-17 rout of Shaler Area on Friday. Pine-Richland earned the No. 1 seed and a first-round bye in the 2025 WPIAL 5A playoff bracket. The Rams will host the winner of Shaler Area-Kiski Area on Nov. 7.

7. Roman Catholic (6-3)

The Cahillite topped Monsignor Bonner 26-14 on Friday and finished the regular season with a 6-3 record. Roman Catholic will play Father Judge on Saturday for the PCL 5A championship.

8. Harrisburg (10-0)

The Cougars capped off an undefeated Pennsylvania high school football regular season with a 28-6 win over Central Dauphin East. Harrisburg earned the No. 2 seed and a first-round bye in the PIAA District 3 6A bracket. The Cougars will host the winner of Cumberland ValleyCentral Dauphin on Nov. 8.

9. Bishop McDevitt (8-2)

The Crusaders concluded their regular season with a 36-20 win over State College Area. Bishop McDevitt is the No. 3 seed and has a first-round bye in the PIAA District 3 5A bracket. The Crusaders will host the winner of MechanicsburgRed Land on Nov. 7.

10. Upper Saint Clair (7-3)

The Panthers demolished Baldwin 56-8 on Friday and ended the Pennsylvania high school football regular season with a 7-3 record. Upper Saint Clair is the No. 6 seed in the 2025 WPIAL 5A bracket and will open the postseason on Friday against Plum.
