The 2025 high school football season will be getting underway in less than six weeks, which means it’s officially preview season. Rivals is breaking down the nation’s top teams from coast-to-coast, and today we make our way over to Minnesota where Eden Prairie is looking to end a four-year title drought. If the Eagles are to win their 13th state championship this fall, they’ll need to navigate a very challenging schedule.

Player Spotlight: TE/DL Braden Minta

Braden Minta had a very productive 2024 campaign and returns as one of the top defenders in the state. The recent North Dakota commit heads up an Eden Prairie defensive front that brings back several starts from last year’s squad. If the team is to accomplish its goals this fall, it will need a big senior season from the 6-foot-5, 240-pound standout.

Others to watch: OL Ethan Sather, OL Jake Gau, ATH Phillip Moita

Season Prediction: 6-2

Expectations are always high at Eden Prairie and this season is no different. Last year in the MCHSL’s 6A playoffs, the Eagles were knocked out in the second round by eventual state champion Maple Grove, 34-0. This year’s Eden Prairie squad has the talent to make an even deeper postseason run and that’s exactly what we expect this fall. The Eagles will be better in the regular season than they were in 2024, but the Crimson will once again end the their season in the playoffs, this time in the third round.
