Ricky Tullos steps down as Bryan (TX) head football coach
After four seasons at the helm, Ricky Tullos will no longer be leading the Bryan Vikings (TX) football team.
According to a report by The Eagle on Tuesday afternoon, Tullos has stepped down as the school’s head football coach and campus coordinator. In his four seasons in leading Bryan, Tullos compiled a 13-28 record with his best season being his first in 2022 when the Vikings went 6-5.
Before arriving at Bryan ahead of the 2022 season, Tullos had previously coached at Cleveland, George Ranch and Pearland, totaling a combined record of 118-47 with nine playoff appearances. Other than the 2022 season for Bryan, the team didn’t reach the postseason in any of the other three years.
This past 2025 season was by far the hardest and most trying for Tullos at Bryan, with the program finishing with an 0-10 record and getting out-scored 405-130.

Tullos had to follow up Bryan coaching legend Ross Rogers, who had led the football program for 10 seasons and went 49-58. Rogers retired after coaching high school football for 36 seasons. For his overall coaching career when it comes to being a head coach in Texas high school football, Tullos has compiled a record of 131-75 between his four stops.
