The seventh set of Rivals National High School Football Composite Rankings of the season has been released, with St. John Bosco Braves for the fourth straight week in a row sitting atop at No. 1, respectively. Right behind St. John Bosco is a slight switch up, with IMG Academy (Fla.) followed by St. Frances Academy (Md), which the the latter two teams are slated to square off on Nov. 7 in Bradenton.

Who else cracks the latest set of national high school football composite Top 25 rankings this week?

Below are the top-25 teams in the Rivals National High School Football Composite Rankings, a proprietary algorithm that compiles rankings listed in the public domain by respected media and data companies. It includes Massey, MaxPreps, ESPN and SI, creating the industry’s most comprehensive and geographically balanced ranking.

1. St. John Bosco Braves (Calif.)

For the fourth consecutive week in a row, the St. John Bosco Braves (6-0) are the No. 1 team in the land according to the Rivals National High School Football Composite Rankings. The Braves have been nothing less than impressive through the first few weeks of the season, with impressive wins along the way over St. Frances Academy (Md.) and St. Louis (HI), respectively. Texas A&M commit Madden Williams has been terrific for St. John Bosco this season, catching 24 passes for 467 yards and six touchdowns. Looking at the landscape of high school football around the country, if St. John Bosco and Mater Dei can head into their Halloween meeting both inside of the Top 5, the game would certainly hold national championship implications. The Braves go on the road this week to face a tough Orange Lutheran bunch that gave Mater Dei all they could handle last week.

2. IMG Academy Ascenders (Fla.)

The IMG Academy (6-0) have been the most dominant, consistent football program out of the Sunshine State, though the Ascenders were in a battle last week not far from home. The Ascenders made the short trip down to Sarasota County and defeated Venice (Fla.) in a 27-14 decision. IMG Academy received a huge performance through the air via sophomore four-star wide receiver Eric McFarland, who caught eight passes for 117 yards and three touchdowns. The Ascenders will be playing from the friendly confines of home every week from here on out and don’t play again until Oct. 17 against the NFL Academy.

3. St. Frances Academy Panthers (Md.)

St. Frances Academy (3-1) was arguably the most impressive team after the first major weekend of high school football, as they cruised to a 42-13 thrashing of Chaminade-Madonna Prep (Fla) at the Broward County Classic. The Panthers’ lone loss this season so far came when they traveled across the country to take on No. 1 St. John Bosco and narrowly lost in a 21-14 decision.

The Panthers moved up a spot in this week’s latest set of rankings after a 37-0 thrashing of The First Academy (Fla.) in Baltimore. St. Frances Academy heads on the road again this week when they take on Wright PCS.

4. Grayson Rams (Ga.)

Grayson (7-0) has throughly dominated its last four opponents, winning by a combined 205-16. All the Rams have gone out and done is win important games against regional powers like Alabama’s Thompson and a 63-13 rout of Mallard Creek (N.C.), respectively. Junior signal caller Deuce Smith has taken the controls of the offense for Grayson and has played admirably behind center. The Rams will win out and go undefeated this season as they take on Rockdale County (4-2) on Friday night.

5. Buford Wolves (Ga.)

Buford’s (6-0) has had arguably one of the most impressive starts of any Georgia team this 2025 high school football season because of the programs they’ve faced.

First up to start the season was a meeting with No. 18 Milton, with the Wolves coming away with a 20-13 victory on national television. The Wolves then hit the road to Savannah to face a very good Benedictine Military School squad and won by multiple scores. The 65-21 rout of Roswell a few weeks ago leaves many wondering if Buford could be the team to beat for Georgia’s Class 6A state championship when it’s all said and done against Grayson (see above).

The Wolves last win was a 34-3 defeat of a talented Collins Hill team and have a quick turnaround when they face off against Dacula on Thursday night on the road.

6. Mater Dei Monarchs (Calif.)

Mater Dei (5-1) made up for their surprising loss to Corona Centennial and bounced back in a huge way when they defeated a previously undefeated Bishop Gorman in Las Vegas two weeks ago. The win for the Monarchs showed a lot of grit for a program that needed to overcome some adversity from the previous week.

The Monarchs this season has edged out St. Thomas Aquinas (Fla.) at the Broward County High School Football Classic down in Fort Lauderdale, pulling off a 26-23 victory to start the 2025 season. The Monarchs had to do it again a couple weeks later in a 21-18 win over Kahuku (Hawaii). Raul Lara’s bunch notched another impressive victory, this time a 25-10 win over a solid Orange Lutheran squad.

Mater Dei will be tested on the road once again this week when they take on Carson Palmer’s Santa Margarita Catholic Eagles.

7. Bishop Gorman Gaels (Nev.)

Bishop Gorman (6-1) have fully bounced back from their loss to Mater Dei with their second straight victory, a 58-0 rout of Palo Verde (Nev.) last week.

The Gaels was able to come away with a 14-0 win over the Santa Margarita Eagles, bouncing back from their lone loss of the season against Mater Dei (Calif.). Hawaii commitment Maika Eugenio has been terrific on the offensive side of the ball, throwing for 1,866 yards and 21 touchdowns on the season.

It is a forgone conclusion that the Gaels are destined to win another Nevada state championship, but that’s not the ultimate goal for this program as they continue to remain in the national picture. Bishop Gorman should run the table the rest of the way to a 9-1 regular season record as they face instate competition. The Gaels are back in action on Friday night at Fertitta Field when they take on Mojave (2-4).

8. Southlake Carroll Dragons (TX)

The Southlake Carroll Dragons (5-0), which has played the most impressively and consistently of any high school football team out of Texas.

The Dragons last week added another blowout win when they rolled to a 63-28 rout of Keller (3-3) last week. Up next for Southlake Carroll is a road tilt against Eaton (3-3).

Ohio State commit Brock Boyd broke a 20-year old receiving yardage all-time record and now sits along as Southlake Carroll’s leader with 3,304 and counting. Pittsburgh commit Angelo Renda this season has completed 109 of 143 (76 percent) passes for 1,805 yards and 20 touchdowns.

9. Sierra Canyon Trailblazers (Calif.)

The third team out of the great state of California in the latest Rivals National High School Football Composite Rankings are the Sierra Canyon Trailblazers (6-0).

Surfacing from last week’s 30-0 win over Junipero Serra was one of the oddest scenes from a game this season when nearly the entire Sierra Canyon offense fell down, seemingly taunting their opponent.

Senior quarterback Laird Finkel has been the steady hand behind center, throwing for over 1,300 yards and 10 touchdowns this fall. Leading the team defensively is senior EDGE Richard Wesley (Texas commitment), who has a team-high five sacks.

Recently bullying a very good Orange Lutheran team in a 41-9 victory earned Sierra Canyon and bouquet of flowers and then some. Next time the Trailblazers take the field is Friday night versus Chaminade.

10. Edna Karr Cougars (La.)

Rounding out the Rivals National High School Football Composite Rankings’ Top 10 is the newbie Edna Karr Cougars (5-0).

Edna Karr finally breaks through into the Top 10 of the Rivals Composite rankings after they soundly defeated St. Augustine, 42-21. The Cougars also own a win over Florida’s American Heritage, 24-17, from earlier in the season.

There’s not many defenses that feature the kind of star power the Cougars do across the board. Edna Karr’s front seven is led by LSU four-star defensive tackle commit Richard Anderson and the secondary is stacked with Division I talent.

The Cougars are back at it Friday night against Brother Martin (5-1).
