South Carolina High School Football Rankings: Top 25 Teams - Sept. 23

The high school football season continued in South Carolina last week, as many of the top programs in the Palmetto State were in action. Plenty of interesting results followed.

Another jam-packed slate is on deck as teams continue their quests for a state title. Below are the top 25 South Carolina high school football teams, according to the Massey Ratings, as of Sept. 23.

1. Northwestern Trojans

After losing to South Pointe, the Trojans became the top team in South Carolina high school football after a one-sided 75-21 road victory against Nation Ford. Xavier Means threw for 236 passing yards, rushed for 47, and had a hand in four touchdowns (three passing). Nigel Smith had 109 rushing yards and three touchdowns, while Kameron Vance added 72 receiving yards and two touchdowns. Meanwhile, the Northwestern defense generated 16 tackles for losses, including 3.5 sacks. The Trojans can start another winning streak with a favorable result against Catawba Ridge on September 26.

2. South Pointe Stallions

The Stallions galloped to their fourth straight victory, defeating A.C. Flora 35-12. J’Zavien Currence threw for 265 yards, rushed for 93 more, and scored three touchdowns (two rushing). R.J. Brown had 14 carries for 140 rushing yards and a touchdown, while Dailan Duncan had eight catches for 170 receiving yards. On defense, Brysen Ginn tallied two sacks, while the entire South Pointe unit registered ten tackles for losses. The Stallions will face Camden on October 3.

3. Irmo Yellowjackets

The Yellowjackets improved their record to 5-0 after an impressive 59-21 victory over Myrtle Beach. Irmo established a 35-7 halftime lead and never looked back. They can earn win number six by defeating Lexington on October 3.

4. Dutch Fork Foxes

The Foxes’ three-game winning streak to begin the 2025 South Carolina high school football season ended at Oceanside Collegiate Academy’s hands. It’s their first loss in 24 games, a streak that dated back to October 2023. Dutch Fork will return to action against Chapin on October 3.

5. South Florence Bruins

The Bruins have won two in a row after a shutout victory against Crestwood. Messiah Jackson had 123 passing yards, 53 rushing yards, and three touchdowns. Cameron James added two rushing touchdowns, while Semaj Parker had 61 receiving yards and a touchdown. South Florence will return to action against Darlington on October 3.

6. Ridge View Blazers

The Blazers ended their two-game losing streak by defeating Camden 56-13. Spencer Bobian led the way with 17 carries for 123 rushing yards and a touchdown. Meanwhile, Ashton Chapman threw two touchdown passes, caught by Omari Johnson and Aidan Keeffe. On the other side of the ball, Drew Madison tallied two sacks and the Ridge View defense generated ten tackles for losses and an interception. The Blazers can start a winning streak if they defeat Westwood on September 26.

7. North Augusta Yellow Jackets

The Yellow Jackets remain undefeated five games into their 2025 South Carolina high school football schedule. Against Gilbert, North Augusta scored a season-high 56 points, the second time they’ve reached the 50-point mark this season. The Yellow Jackets can improve to 6-0 if they beat Gray Collegiate on September 26.

8. Summerville Green Wave

The Green Wave have won two in a row after a 50-14 trashing of Chapin. Max Stafford threw for 154 passing yards and two touchdowns. Jaiden Kelly-Murray caught both scoring passes, finishing with 87 receiving yards. Jayven Williams contributed 130 rushing yards and three touchdowns. Summerville will play Goose Creek on the 26th, an opportunity to extend their winning streak to three games.

9. Byrnes Rebels

The Rebels completed a one-sided victory against Wade Hampton. Caine Rogers threw for 181 passing yards and two touchdowns, while Tre Segarra added 75 rushing yards and two touchdowns. Meanwhile, Chanin Harris made five catches for 56 receiving yards. Likewise, the Byrnes defense generated four sacks and two interceptions. The Rebels will face Dorman on the 26th.

10. James Island Trojans

The Trojans entered the South Carolina high school football top ten after a 63-7 victory over St. James. Connor Dantzler completed 83 percent of his throws (20 of 24) for 345 passing yards and three touchdowns. Raphael Puiu also had a big day, making five catches for 165 yards and two touchdowns. King Washington, J’Kai Grant, and Malachi Washington each contributed two rushing scores. James Island can improve to 6-0 if they outclass West Ashley on October 3.
