South Carolina High School Football Top 25 Rankings - Sept. 9

The high school football season kicked off in South Carolina last week, and many of the top programs in the Palmetto State were in action. Plenty of interesting results followed.
Another jam-packed slate is on deck as teams continue their quests for a state title. Below are the top 25 South Carolina high school football teams, according to the Massey Ratings, as of Sept. 9.
1. Northwestern Trojans
The best team in South Carolina high school football remains undefeated after three games. Their latest conquest is a 55-35 onslaught against South Florence. Xavier Means had a monster game, finishing with 250 passing yards, 147 rushing yards, and five touchdowns (three passing).
Kameron Vance collected 13 catches for 105 yards and two touchdowns, while Nigel Smith tallied 104 rushing yards and a touchdown. Meanwhile, linebacker Tamarion Watkins led the defense with six tackles (two for losses) and a sack. After playing the Bruins on the road, Northwestern will host South Pointe on September 12.
2. Dutch Fork Foxes
The Foxes have two victories in as many games after edging Ridge View, 28-21. Jaxon Knotts threw for 295 yards, rushed for 47, and generated four touchdowns (three passing). Meanwhile, Stone Furrey finished with six catches for 158 receiving yards and a touchdown. After playing their first two games at home, Dutch Fork will go on the road to face Gray Collegiate on September 12.
3. Irmo Yellow Jackets
The Yellow Jackets improve to 3-0 after a 42-14 win over Butler. Irmo scored 21 first-quarter points and never looked back. Likewise, they didn’t allow the Bulldogs to score until the second half. Irmo can earn its fourth consecutive victory against Carolina Forest on September 12.
4. South Pointe Stallions
The Stallions earned their second consecutive victory via a low-scoring 10-7 clash against West Charlotte. J’Zavien Currence scored South Pointe’s lone touchdown. After playing their last two games at home, the Stallions will continue the 2025 South Carolina high school football season by visiting Northwestern on September 12.
5. South Florence Bruins
The Bruins are still one of South Carolina’s top teams despite their 55-35 home loss against Northwestern. Despite the defeat, quarterback Messiah Jackson (209 passing yards, two touchdowns), running back Cameron James (115 receiving yards, one touchdown), and wide receiver JayAun Perkins (153 receiving yards, two touchdowns) deserve recognition. Likewise, Terry Gordon (seven tackles, two sacks) was commendable on defense. South Florence can bounce back with a victory against Fort Dorchester on September 12.
6. Ridge View Blazers
The Blazers fall to 1-2 after losing to Dutch Fork. Quarterback Ashton Chapman (222 yards, one touchdown) and Carter Coleman (74 receiving yards, one TD) had solid games in the loss. After playing two consecutive road games, Ridge View will return home to host Camden on September 12.
7. Camden Bulldogs
The Bulldogs maintained their perfect record after a come-from-behind victory against Hartsville. From a 28-14 advantage by the Red Foxes, Camden embarked on a 27-3 second half to get their third victory in as many games. They can earn their fourth straight win against Ridge View on September 12.

The Rebels are coming off a disappointing three-point loss against Irmo.
