St. Frances Academy (MD) reveals 2025 national football slate

Not many high school football programs traveled like St. Frances Academy (Maryland) did in 2024. Might be safe to say no one hopped on planes and played football on Friday nights like the Panthers did last fall.

On Wednesday afternoon, St. Frances Academy dropped its official 2025 football schedule, with the Panthers this time around playing eight home games versus four away contests. Its a stark contract to a year ago when the Panthers’ travel schedule was well over 18,000 flyer miles logged in for the national powerhouse out of Baltimore.

What’s clearly evident is Panthers’ head coach Messay Hailemariam put together a monster of a schedule and has his group playing some of the top programs in the country.

St. Frances Academy starts off the 2025 season at home against Canada North (Aug. 15) before they travel down to Fort Lauderdale, Fla. to take on 9-time state champion Chaminade-Madonna in the Broward County Classic High School Football Showcase at St. Thomas Aquinas on Aug. 23.

After a bye week, the Panthers get back on the road for trips against California’s St. John Bosco (Sep. 5) and Pennsylvania’s St. Joseph Prep School (Sep. 13).

Hailemariam’s bunch returns for a 7-game home stretch between Sep. 19-Nov. 1, which includes matchups against The First Academy (Fla.), Hun School (NJ) and St. James (Virg.). The Panthers end the season traveling down to Bradenton, Fla. for their annual rivalry game against IMG Academy on Nov. 7.

Last season, St. Frances Academy’s only losses came against Duncanville (Texas), Mater Dei (Calif.) and Orange Lutheran (Calif.), all coming on the road.
