The 2025 Tennessee high school football season is in its homestretch, as state championship games are happening in the next few days. Before the season closes, here’s how Massey ranked Tennessee’s best squads.

The Massey Ratings system, officially used during the BCS era, is a model that ranks sports teams by analyzing game outcomes, strength of schedule, and margin of victory.

1. Baylor School Red Raiders

The Red Raiders remain undefeated after a 56-35 win against McCallie School. The Blue Tornados had no answer for David Gabriel-Georges, who finished with 417 rushing yards and seven touchdowns. Jamyan Theodore added 100 receiving yards and a touchdown. Baylor School will face Brentwood Academy for the Tennessee high school football Division II Class AAA state championship on December 4.

2. Oakland Patriots

The Patriots improved to 14-0 after beating Blackman in the Division I Class 6A state semifinals. Craig Tutt led the Oakland offense with 170 rushing yards, 64 receiving yards, and four touchdowns (three rushing). The Patriots will advance to the state championship game against Ravenwood on December 6.

3. McCallie School Blue Tornados

The Blue Tornadoes’ season ended with a loss to Baylor School. Despite the loss, Elliott Drapeau was impressive with 395 passing yards and three touchdowns, while Keeyshawn Tabuteau finished with 227 receiving yards and a touchdown. The McCallie School defense also generated six sacks. The Blue Tornadoes finished the 2025 Tennessee high school football season with a 10-3 record and their loss to Baylor snapped a six-game winning streak.

4. Brentwood Academy Eagles

The Eagles remain undefeated after a dominating 38-7 victory over Christ Presbyterian Academy. Next on Brentwood Academy’s schedule is a date with Baylor School in the Division II Class AAA state championship game on December 4.

5. Ravenwood Raptors

The Raptors escaped with a 28-25 victory over Southwind, earning them a 14-0 record. Maverick Chance finished with 221 yards from scrimmage (101 passing, 64 rushing, 56 passing) and two touchdowns, while Ravenwood will advance to the Tennessee high school football Division I Class 6A state championship game against Oakland on December 6.
