The high school football season continued in Tennessee last week, as many of the top programs in the Volunteer State were in action. Plenty of interesting results followed.

Another jam-packed slate is on deck as teams continue their quests for a state title. Below are the top 25 Tennessee high school football teams, according to the Massey Ratings, as of Oct. 7.

1. Baylor School Red Raiders

The best team in Tennessee high school football improved to 6-0 after edging McCallie School 38-35. The Red Raiders’ 17-point second quarter proved to be the edge that kept them undefeated. Baylor School will have a bye week before facing Ambassador Christian on October 17.

2. Oakland Patriots

For the second time this season, the Patriots surrendered 14 points to an opponent (Rockvale). However, it was still not enough to prevent Oakland from earning its seventh consecutive win. Justin Haggard had 103 rushing yards and three touchdowns, while Kam Morton and Joel Wyatt connected on a TD pass. On defense, Traivon Jackson had 15 total tackles, including a sack. Likewise, the defense had four interceptions and nine tackles for loss. The Patriots will aim for win number eight when they face LaVergne on October 17.

3. McCallie School Blue Tornados

The Blue Tornados suffered a disappointing loss to Baylor School, dropping their record to 5-2.  Likewise, the 38 points scored by the Red Raiders are the most they’ve surrendered this season. McCallie School can bounce back by beating Knoxville Catholic on the road on October 17.

4. Ravenwood Raptors

The Raptors are now at 7-0 following their 28-7 victory against Independence. It also marks the second time in the 2025 Tennessee high school football season that they’ve limited an opponent to single-digit scoring. Ravenwood can improve to 8-0 by defeating Shelbyville Central on the 17th.

5. Brentwood Academy Eagles

The Eagles have limited their opponent to single-digit scoring for the fourth consecutive game. Likewise, their 35-0 victory over Memphis University School is their second shutout win. Brentwood Academy can get to 7-0 by defeating Briarcrest Christian on October 10.

6. Ensworth Tigers

After losing to Brentwood Academy, the Tigers earned a 35-6 win against Knoxville Catholic. The six points are tied for the fewest points they’ve allowed this season. Ensworth can start another winning streak by beating Christ Presbyterian Academy on the 10th.

7. Alcoa Tornadoes

The Tornadoes earned their seventh consecutive victory after a 38-7 drubbing of South-Doyle. Dating back to the 2024 Tennessee high school football season, Alcoa has won 20 straight games. They can extend this streak by defeating Heritage on October 17.

8. Page Patriots

The Patriots’ 40–0 shutout of Lawson improved their record to 6-0. Page has won 20 of their last 21 games, and they can keep this good run with a victory over Independence on October 17.

9. Franklin Road Academy Panthers

The Panthers are now at 6-0 following their 42-7 triumph over Goodpasture Christian. Jack Nimitz threw for two touchdowns, while Mike Hassell rushed for 140 yards and a TD. Omarii Sanders and Kwadir Fletcher also scored on receiving touchdowns. Franklin Road Academy can remain undefeated by getting a favorable result in a road game versus Antioch on October 9.

10. Battle Ground Academy Wildcats

After losing to Franklin Road Academy, the Wildcats returned to the win column after an emphatic 55-10 result against Davidson Academy. Kaedyn Marable finished with 379 passing yards and five touchdowns. Marable’s monster game helped Maddox Porter (144 yards, two touchdowns) and Maximus Curry (159 yards, two TDs) have impressive performances. Marable added a rushing touchdown, while Jayden Cannon and Fletcher Fields also scored on the end zone. Likewise, the Battle Ground Academy defense made two sacks and two interceptions. The Wildcats’ 2025 Tennessee high school football season continues with an October 9 home game against Chattanooga Preparatory School.
