Friday afternoon high school football, anyone?

When Allen and Prosper both met on Friday afternoon, due to inclement weather slated to come through the area, the Texas showdown featured a pair of undefeated, 7-0 teams. The game lived up to the billing and then some.

Allen was able to score with just over a minute to go on a touchdown from Jaden Hambric as they came away with the thrilling 31-30 victory over Prosper. With the win, Allen improves to 8-0 on the season heading into the final two games against McKinney Boyd and Plano East, respectively.

After trailing 3-0 at the outset, Allen (8-0) was able to out-score Prosper (7-1) 21-7 the rest of the first half as they went into intermission.

Prosper wouldn’t go down quietly, as they scored multiple touchdowns in the third quarter, taking a 24-21 lead with 5:54 remaining in the third quarter. It would be the final period of play that would make things a little wonky down to the final minutes.

Allen tied things up at 24-all on a field goal, but Prosper retook the lead at 30-24 on a 57-yard touchdown pass from Braeden Imhoff to Dallas Boozer. With 1:12 remaining in the game, Allen claimed a 31-30 lead on a touchdown by Hambric.

Prosper would miss on a 46-yard field goal with time expiring.
