Calling this game a ‘shootout’ may not do it justice.

Westbrook (Texas) defeated Robert Lee (Texas) 116-110 Friday night in the Texas UIL 6-Man 1A high school football playoffs.

According to SixManFootball.com, it was the sixth-highest scoring game of all time in Texas 6-man football.

Westbrook led Robert Lee 80-64 at halftime and extended the lead to a 108-102 margin by the end of the third quarter.

With the win, Westbrook advances to face Newcastle next week. Westbrook is 8-2 on the year and closed the regular season last week with a 75-46 win over Hermleigh. The Wildcats’ win over Robert Lee was their third instance of scoring at least 70 points this year and fifth of scoring at least 60.

On the flip side, Robert Lee has had a couple of high-scoring affairs of its own. The Steers beat Sands 78-74 back in September a week after dropping 76 points on Blackwell. Lee also scored over 70 points in its regular season opener and regular season finale.
