Some of the best high school football teams in the nation will compete with Florida’s best in the Broward County High School National Football Showcase. The games will happen from August 21 to 23 in three Florida high schools.

Mater Dei, the nation’s top-ranked team by the end of the 2024 season, will be one of the competitors. The Monarchs finished the season with a perfect 13-0 record en route to winning the CIF Open Division state championship. In addition to the On3 Composite Team Rankings, ESPN and SI regarded them as the best high school football team.

Joining Mater Dei in this event is St. Frances Academy, Maryland’s third-best team and 19th in the nation. The Panthers finished the season with six consecutive victories to improve their record to 8-3. Also in the mix is St. Joseph’s Prep, Pennsylvania’s top high school football team. The Hawks’ 2024-25 season ended at 11-2, including a dominating victory over Central Catholic in the Pennsylvania Class 6A state championship game.

Meanwhile, Utah’s Corner Canyon will also participate in the Broward County High School National Football Showcase. The eighth-best team in the nation finished with a 13-1 record last season and defeated Lone Peak for the Utah Class 6A state championship.

Finally, Georgia’s Peachtree Ridge completes the non-Florida participants. The Lions had a 6-6 record last season, which ended in a loss to Hillgrove in the second round of the Georgia Class 6A state tournament.

Completing the Broward County High School National Football Showcase are 11 teams from the Sunshine State. Leading the pack is Chaminade-Madonna, the state’s top-ranked team. The Lions had a 13-2 record last season and won the Florida Class 1A state championship over Clearwater Central Catholic.

Third-ranked American Heritage (12-2) and fifth-ranked St. Thomas Aquinas (12-3) are also playing in this three-day event. Also representing Florida are Archbishop McCarthy, Cardinal Gibbons, Dillard, Dr. Phillips, Jacksonville Bolles, Monarch, Piper, and West Broward.
