Top-ranked prospect Tyran Stokes returns to his hometown for a back to school drive

Five-star prospect Tyran Stokes is sharing the spoils of his success by having a back-to-school drive at Louisville, Kentucky, his hometown. As he posted on his X/Twitter account, his first back-to-school drive will be on August 2 at Wyandotte Park. There will be games and giveaways for those attending.

Stokes is enjoying much success lately, both in the domestic and international scene. The senior from Notre Dame Prep helped USA Basketball complete an undefeated tournament to win gold in the 2025 FIBA Under-19 World Cup in Lausanne, Switzerland.

During that competition, Tyran Stokes became the first American player to register a triple-double (19 points, 11 rebounds, 10 assists) in the said tournament. His production helped the United States secure a 140-67 victory over Jordan.

Likewise, Stokes won his third gold medal for Team USA. In addition to the 2025 FIBA Under-19 World Cup, he was part of the team that won the 2024 FIBA Under-17 World Cup in Istanbul, Turkey and the 2023 FIBA Men’s U16 Americas Championship in Merida, Mexico.

After winning gold, Tyran Stokes lit up Session 4 of the Nike Elite Youth Basketball League. Playing for the Oakland Soldiers, the top-ranked high school basketball prospect from the Class of 2026 tallied 31 points on 64.2 percent shooting (9/14), with nine rebounds and three assists in the tournament opener.

Over the next three games, Stokes led the Soldiers to victories while tallying 70 points, 39 rebounds, and 15 assists. These performances solidified his spot as the nation’s best prospect among incoming high school seniors with a 99.25 Rivals Industry Ranking.

In 2025, Tyran Stokes will play out his second and final season with Sherman Oaks’ Notre Dame High School. Last year, he finished his junior year averaging 21 points, 9.3 rebounds, 3.9 assists, and 1.5 steals per game.

Before attending Notre Dame, Stokes played for Prolific Prep and was teammates with AJ Dybantsa, the Class of 2025’s top-ranked prospect. As for his college basketball destination, Stokes remains uncommitted despite receiving offers from Louisville, Arkansas, Kansas, Kentucky, Oregon, LSU, Michigan, Texas, Alabama, Texas A&M, Ole Miss, Auburn, Florida State, and UCLA, among others.
