Roster features multiple standouts from USA Basketball minicamp in April
Earlier this spring, top prospects from around the country made their way to San Antonio to participate in Team USA’s minicamp event. It included more than 60 of the country’s very best players from the 2026, 2027, and 2028 classes.
And despite being on the younger side of the group, multiple players who will compete for the u-16 squad were among the standouts. Both Anderson and Lusakueno made the list of top performers from On3’s Jamie Shaw, and he wrote this about each:
Anderson: “It was a good overall weekend for lead guard Nasir Anderson. The 6-foot-2 sophomore opened eyes early as a defensive stopper at the point of attack. He made it difficult throughout the weekend for any player across from him to get comfortable. Anderson has a physical and twitchy athletic disposition. He moves well laterally, has long arms, and has great anticipation. On the ball, Anderson played with excellent pace. He has a crafty left-handed handle and was consistently able to put two feet in the paint to collapse a defense. The jump shot was not falling here, but he finished through contact, showed his speed, and burst at the rim.”
Lusakueno: “He has a fascinating athletic frame. He is lengthy with both twitch and burst. Along with the athleticism, the motor ran hot from start to finish of the camp. Lusakueno was consistently around the rim on both ends of the floor. He attacked offensive rebounds, attempting put-back dunks every time you looked up. He also had a nose for weak side-shot blocks and plays around the rim. While a lot of his play in the five-on-five portions was at the rim, he consistently knocked down shots in the warm-up portions. There is an intriguing amount of upside with Lusakueno as he continues to progress forward.”
