Oaks Christian (Calif.) star Deshonne Redeaux is one of the top running backs and one of the best in California in the 2026 cycle. He began to blow up as a junior last fall and is looking to keep the momentum riding in his final campaign this season.

The four-star prospect and USC commit put together one his best performances in Oak Christian’s first win of the season last week. Going on the road to Bakersfield and defeating Liberty 35-28, he tallied 266 yards and four touchdowns on just 12 carries.

Highlighting the performance was a 78-yard score that saw the 5-foot-10 burner race down the sideline:

Through three games, Redeaux is now up to 449 rushing yards and six touchdowns. He’s averaging over 13 yards per rush and has also caught six passes for 84 yards, per MaxPreps.

In 10 games as a junior, Redeaux dashed for over 1,200 yards and 17 scores. Across 30 career games, he’s tallied over 2,900 total yards and has 31 TDs to his name.

Oaks Christian went 9-4 last season and finished as the No. 20 team in California, per the Massey Ratings. Like this year, the Lions lost a pair of early matchups but closed the year strong, something they’ll attempt to do again in 2025.

The win over Liberty last week was a big one. Oaks Christian dropped its season-opener to Chaminade 42-27 before taking a 63-0 beating at the hands of Sierra Canyon. Another tough test awaits this week as the Lions take on Santa Margarita Catholic, the No. 6 team in the Golden State.

Redeaux committed to USC on April 5, choosing the local program over the likes of UCLA, Georgia, Michigan and Oregon. He and four-star Shahn Alston create one of the best RB duos for any recruiting class this cycle.

“USC has always been there, and when they realized they couldn’t let me slip away late last year, things changed with them,” Redeaux told Rivals’ Chad Simmons about his decision. “Once they turned it up and made me feel I couldn’t leave home and that there was no need for me to go anywhere else, USC became that school for me.”
