1. Maury
While they didn’t score as much compared to their three previous games (49 points), the Commodores still pulled off a victory over Churchland to remain as Virginia’s top team. Likewise, they’re still the state’s top offensive team heading to their matchup with Granby on Nov. 8.
2. Phoebus
While their streak of shutout victories has ended, the Phantoms retake the second spot in the Virginia high school football rankings after winning over Warwick on Nov. 2. More importantly, they remain undefeated through nine games. Phoebus will wrap up their regional schedule with a visit to Denbigh on Nov. 8.
3. Liberty Christian Academy
The Bulldogs improved to 8-0 after a shutout victory over Brookville. That win also marks the fourth consecutive time they’ve limited an opponent to seven points or less. Armed with Virginia’s second-best offense, Liberty Christian will aim for their ninth victory against Jefferson Forest on Nov. 8.
4. Oscar Smith
While the Tigers dropped two spots from last week’s position, they remain undefeated after a convincing win over Hickory. However, they surrendered to the Hawks the most points they’ve given an opponent this season. Therefore, Oscar Smith’s third-ranked defense will try to impose their will on Western Branch on Nov. 8.
5. Battlefield
The Bobcats have never allowed an opponent to score more than eight points in a game this season. They have maintained that streak in their road victory over Osbourn, earning them their ninth consecutive win. Battlefield will wrap up conference play in the 2024 Virginia high school football season against Patriot on the 8th.
6. Madison
The Warhawks retain their perfect record by defeating Oakton on the road. Limiting the Cougars to six points improved Madison’s defensive ranking to eighth. They will wrap up conference play versus Centreville on Nov. 8 before heading to the playoffs.

7. Dinwiddie
The Generals are on a six-game winning streak after losing to top-ranked Maury. Their latest result was a 56-0 shutout victory over Meadowbrook, the second time this season they’ve limited an opponent to zero points. Dinwiddie will proceed to face Matoaca on Nov. 8.
8. Woodberry Forest
The Tigers remain undefeated by earning a dominating victory against Fork Union Military Academy. In addition to scoring a season-high 51 points, they limited the Blue Devils to 12 points, the third-lowest point total they’ve surrendered this year. Next on Woodberry Forest’s schedule is a road game against Episcopal.
9. Highland Springs
The Springers remain Virginia high school football’s best defensive team despite their recent loss to tenth-ranked Varina. That defeat ended their five-game winning streak, which started after consecutive losses to Phoebus and Maury. Highland Springs can bounce back by winning over Hanover on Nov. 8.
10. Varina
The Blue Devils have proven that their season-opening loss to Indian Rivers was an exception. They’ve won seven consecutive games after edging Highland Springs. Varina can maintain their winning ways with a road victory over Patrick Henry on the 8th before the state tournament starts.
