For the second consecutive night, a nationally ranked team out of the Lone Star State went down and this time, it was the No. 7 Duncanville Panthers’ turn.

Waxahachie overcame a 20-9 deficit to comeback and defeat Duncanville in a thrilling, 28-27 win. The upset by the Indians is the second night in a row a Texas powerhouse has been handed a defeat, with Rockwall upending No. 9 North Crowley on Thursday night.

The Indians trailed 20-9 in the first quarter after Panthers’ defensive back Victor Lincoln returned an interception back to the house, giving Duncanville the two-score advantage. The Panthers would only score one more time the rest of the evening as they slowly crawled their way back into the contest.

Trailing 27-9 at halftime, Waxahachie would begin their comeback when Jordan Smith returned a kickoff 79 yards to house and cut the lead to 27-15 in the third quarter.

The Indians would take the lead for good with 3:48 remaining on a quarterback sneak and then held on when they stopped Duncanville on a 4th & 2 attempt in the waning moments, holding on for the major upset win.
