As the Wyoming high school football season nears, anticipation and excitement are in the air across the Cowboy State. Coaches, players, and fans are eager to see how teams will perform and which programs will rise to the top. From perennial powerhouses to upstart programs, here are the top 25 Wyoming high school football teams entering the 2025 season, according to Massey.

The Massey Ratings, officially used during the BCS era, is a model that ranks sports teams by analyzing game outcomes, strength of schedule, and margin of victory.

1. Star Valley Braves

The Braves completed a 12-0 season to win their third consecutive Wyoming high school football Class 3A state championship. Star Valley will try to win a fourth straight championship this season as they begin their campaign against Idaho’s Shelley on Aug. 29.

2. Cody Broncs

The Broncs lost to Star Valley in the Class 3A state championship game. Sadly, it’s also the third straight year that the Braves eliminated them. Despite their most recent loss, Cody still finished the 2024 season with a respectable 9-2 record.

3. Powell Panthers

After splitting their first six games, the Panthers went on a three-game winning streak before losing to Riverton in the first round of the Wyoming high school football Class 3A state tournament. That defeat brought Powell’s season to an end at 6-4.

4. Douglas Bearcats

While the Bearcats started the season with two losses out of their first three games. Since then, Douglas embarked on a six-game winning streak before losing to Cody in the Class 3A state semifinals.

5. Sheridan Broncs

The Broncos won the Wyoming high school football Class 4A state championship against Cheyenne East, capping off a perfect 12-0 season. In addition to having three straight undefeated seasons, Sheridan lost only one game throughout a four-year span.
