After five seasons at the helm, Kyle Westerburg will no longer be the head football coach at Whitehouse (TX), the high school that produced Patrick Mahomes II.

The Whitehouse Independent School District announced Thursday morning that they have mutually agreed to part ways with Westerburg. Westerburg finished with an overall record of 24-29 through his five seasons leading the Wildcats.

“During his tenure, Coach Westerberg guided the Wildcats to three playoff appearances and made a lasting impact on countless student-athletes—helping them develop not only their athletic skills but also their character, teamwork and perseverance,” Whitehouse ISD said via a press release.

Westerburg graduated from Allen High School and later went on to play college football at Missouri Western State University and finished at Texas A&M University-Commerce, according to his bio on the Whitehouse football team website.

Westerberg previously came from Barbers Hill ISD where he was the offensive coordinator and also for Barbers Hill, where led his team to the district title in 2019. In his time at Whitehouse between 2021 and 2025, Westerburg’s best two seasons came in 2022 and 2023 when he compiled a record of 15-7 during that time.

According to Whitehouse ISD officials, the process in selecting who will be the new head coach will take place in the coming weeks.
