Winningest Oregon high school football coach retires after 38 years

Ken Potter’s win tally in Oregon high school football ends at 354 games after announcing his retirement.
In a report from KOIN.com, a source told KOIN 6 Sports that Potter will step down from his role as Jesuit High School head coach after losing to West Linn in the Oregon School Activities Association Class 6A Open Division quarterfinals. This defeat ended Jesuit’s season at 8-3, with their other losses coming against Tualatin and Central Catholic.
Potter became the Crusaders’ head coach in 1987 and also works as a school counselor. In September 2024, he earned the record for most wins by an Oregon high school football head coach after Jesuit earned a 38-15 victory over Oregon City. In that game, Dominic Locati rushed for 183 yards and two touchdowns while Joe Stimpson had 140 receiving yards and a TD.
Potter has led the Crusaders to four state championships, the first of which came in the 2000-01 season. Under his guidance, Jesuit also won back-to-back state titles in 2005-06 and 2006-07. In the first of two consecutive crowns, the Crusaders finished the season with a 13-1 record and defeated Lincoln for the title. The following year, Jesuit completed an undefeated 13-0 season, capped off by a win against Southridge.
