Amaree Abram, a 6-foot-3 point guard, has committed to Texas A&M basketball for the class of 2022, he tells On3.

Abram is the Aggie’s second commitment in the class, following Mississippi State transfer Jalen Johnson.

Abram plays for Summer Creek (Texas) High School, where he averaged over 18 points a game last season. He chose the Aggies over Texas Tech, Wichita State, Oral Roberts, among others.

Amaree Abram on why he chose Texas A&M

“First and foremost, Coach (Steve) Roccaforte has been recruiting me since he was at East Carolina and over the year we built a relationship,” Amaree Abram said. “I was communicating with the A&M staff every day and when I went on the visit, they just made it feel like home. I feel like the school, system, playstyle, and education fit me.

“I also feel like this was the only school that wanted me for me. It was a tough decision but after discussing it with my family, we decided to go with Texas A&M.”
