Kaleb Glenn, one of the best small forwards in the class of 2023, has seen three college campuses so far: Louisville, Indiana, and West Virginia. The Louisville native discusses the potential of being a ‘Hometown Hero’ for the Cardinals, his parents’ alma mater.

Glenn’s Thoughts on the Louisville Cardinals

Glenn’s first college visit was just twenty minutes down the road to see the Louisville Cardinals. Glenn says “I’ve been watching Louisville since I was born. I went to games all the time growing up, both football and basketball.” Both his parents attended Louisville and his dad played football for the Cardinals.

Glenn says the unofficial visit “went really good. My takeaway from it is that they really want me to come and be the next ‘Hometown Hero’, like David Johnson who just got drafted. And just come in and build on what Chris Mack has built and get back to March Madness. They think I can come in and do big things for them and then go to the league. And be the next Louisville great.”

Glenn says he doesn’t feel any pressure to stay home but “the city does really want me here bad. I hear it all the time.”

It’s no secret that Louisville is the perceived favorite by most but Glenn assures me that’s not the case. “Coaches automatically think I’m committing to Louisville just because it’s home. But really, I’m open to anybody. Wherever is best for me.”

Glenn’s Thoughts on the Indiana Hoosiers

Next, Glenn made the trip to Bloomington to see the Hoosiers. Indiana recently hired former NBA player and coach Mike Woodson. Woodson played in the NBA for 10 years, and coached in the league for over two decades. Woodson’s extensive resume is surely to attract high level talent to Bloomington.

“That one went really good too,” Glenn says. “I got to meet Coach Woodson and the rest of the staff. They have a really good staff. Most of them could be head coaches anywhere else. Woodson is trying to get Indiana back to where it was and get that NBA style of play going. I think that would fit me well too.”

Before being drafted 12th overall by the New York Knicks in 1980, Woodson played his four years of college at Indiana. Coaching his alma mater will likely be Woodson’s last stop of his career, considering he turned 63 this year.

Glenn’s Thoughts on the West Virginia Mountaineers

Finally, Glenn made it to Morgantown to visit West Virginia.

“I got to talk to Bob Huggins. They want to bring back ‘Press Virginia’ and they think I’m a good piece for that,” Glenn said.

Kaleb Glenn mentioned that Louisville and Indiana are recruiting him the hardest, but he’s not ready to wrap up his recruitment just yet. He says he wants to visit both Tennessee and Texas A&M in near future and he’s currently working on dates for both.

Glenn is also starting to pull interest from Kentucky, Ohio State, and Michigan but he’s still waiting on an offer from each of respective schools.
