2025 4-star TE Emaree Winston locks in his commitment date

Calhoun (Ga.) tight end Emaree Winston cut his list down to Ohio State, Texas and UCF last month. After having some serious talks with his family, he has decided he is ready to commit.
“I will be committing on Dec. 18,” Winston told On3. “There is nothing special about that day. It is the day that is best for me to announce my decision.”
Winston has visited Ohio State four times. Texas and UCF have had him on campus two times each. Conversations happen with coaches from each school almost daily. The decision is nearing, but the race is still tight.
When Winston trimmed his list a few weeks ago, he said, “I am down to those three schools because of the relationships I have with the coaches. I have visited each school multiple times, I like the atmosphere at each and my connection is strong with the coaching staff. How those schools play makes them stand out too.”
The decision came down to where Winston felt like part of the family. His relationship with the coaching staff, especially his position coach, carried much weight too.

Winston talks Ohio State, Texas and UCF
On Ohio State: “They have 105,000 people there every week. The stadium fills up, it is loud and I like the atmosphere. My relationship with Coach Keenan Bailey is big too. I always enjoy it when I am there. I was at the Michigan State game Saturday, the Michigan game last season and two times in the spring.”
On Texas: “I love how they use JT Sanders in the offense. They move him around, get him the ball in space and that really stands out. My relationships with Coach Jeff Banks and Coach Tashard Choice are strong too.”
On UCF: “It is like family with Coach Brian Blackmon and Coach Alex Mathis. We talk a lot and I like the environment.”
