2025 QB Ryan Montgomery reacts to Notre Dame offer

After starting off as the back-up quarterback this season, freshman quarterback Ryan Montgomery took over in game three. The 2025 signal caller out of Findlay (Ohio) finished 6-2 as a starter. Montgomery finished with close to 1,900 yards passing and 23 touchdowns.
He is already up to six offers after Notre Dame offered Saturday.
“This offer means a lot and it just shows the hard work I’ve been putting in,” Montgomery said. “The hard work is paying off.”
It was Tommy Rees, the offensive coordinator/quarterback coach under Brian Kelly, that caught Montgomery off guard.
“Coach Rees delivered the offer and it came to me as a surprise. I really was not expecting them to extend me an offer.
“We were [talking] in the team locker room. He just said how good I looked and the potential I have. Then to enjoy myself tonight after he told me I was offered.”

In his first visit as a recruit to South Bend, he watched the Irish defeat USC 31-16 after picking up an offer
His older brother is Luke Montgomery, a high priority for the Notre Dame staff in the 2023 class. The new Irish target has an idea about what the program he saw play Saturday night is all about due to that connection.
It is time for him to start coming up with his own opinion of the Irish though since he is now a 2025 target.
“The rich history Notre dame has and how great of an education you get on top of championship football is what stands out to me most about Notre Dame,” Montgomery added.
Georgia Tech, Michigan, Notre Dame, Penn State, and Toledo have also offered Montgomery.
