2026 LB CJ Gamble commits to Georgia Tech

Carrollton (Ga.) three-star linebacker CJ Gamble has committed to Georgia Tech, he announced on Tuesday.
He chose the in-state Yellow Jackets over Kansas, Tennessee, Wake Forest, Memphis and USF.
Gamble is the No. 656 overall prospect and No. 52 LB in the 2026 cycle, according to the On3 Industry Ranking, a weighted average that utilizes all four major recruiting media companies. He’s also the No. 68 player in Georgia.
“I’m excited to announce my commitment to Georgia Tech,” Gamble wrote on X announcing his decision. “I want to thank God, my family, coaches and teammates for making this possible. Let’s work.”
Head coach Brent Key and the GT staff have now added another impressive Peach State prospect to the fold this cycle. The Yellow Jackets originally offered Gamble in January, got him on campus for multiple visits and have now landed his pledge.
Gamble plays for one of the premier high school football programs in Georgia. Carrollton won 14 games in 2024 and finished as the No. 11 team in the nation, according to the On3 Composite Rankings. Gamble will be a key member of the Trojans’ defense this fall.
Yellow Jackets looking to build off big 2025 class
The 2025 cycle was a very successful one for Key and GT. The Yellow Jackets inked 24 high school prospects and compiled the nation’s No. 24 class, per the On3 Industry Team Recruiting Rankings. A pair of elite in-state prospects — four-star safety Tae Harris and four-star interior offensive lineman Josh Petty — headlined the top signees as top-100 overall prospects.

“Georgia Tech has a great staff,” Harris told On3’s Chad Simmons after flipping to GT from Clemson in November. “Coach Peoples, coach Eley (Donald Hill-Eley), coach Santucci and coach Key are all my guys. They have my back and coach Key is turning the program, so don’t be surprised by that in the future.”
Thus far in the 2026 cycle, Georgia Tech now has four commits, all of whom are on the defensive side of the ball. Manchester (Ga.) four-star cornerback Jaedyn Terry pledged at the end of March and is the No. 32 corner in the cycle.
Terry is one of three corners in the mix thus far. Quitman (Ga.) Brooks County three-star Traeviss Stevenson and Madison (Fla.) County three-star Ladarrious Crumity both also committed in March.
The quartet of commits have the Yellow Jackets at No. 49 nationally in the team rankings. That’s also No. 11 in the ACC, checking in ahead of Stanford, Pitt, NC State, Virginia Tech, Virginia and Wake Forest.
