2026 QB Brodie McWhorter commits to Mississippi State

Kingston (Ga.) Cass three-star quarterback Brodie McWhorter has committed to Mississippi State, choosing the Bulldogs over finalists Indiana and Colorado.
The former West Virginia commit announced a top seven in February and told On3 that he was eyeing a late-July to early-August decision. He then set a commitment date later in May before ultimately announcing on Thursday.
“Coach Lebby and I have a great relationship. He’s an offensive-minded coach that I like a lot,” he previously told On3’s Chad Simmons.
Auburn, Syracuse, Wisconsin and West Virginia were among the other schools in the mix for him, but Lebby and Co. made him feel like a priority.

“Mississippi State has recruited me hard from the beginning,” he said. “I’ve liked it every time I’ve been there in the past. “
McWhorter is the No. 670 overall prospect and No. 41 QB in the 2026 cycle, according to the On3 Industry Ranking, a weighted average that utilizes all four major recruiting media companies. He’s also the No. 71 player in Georgia.
The 6-foot-1 gunslinger had his junior campaign at Cass cut short due to a lower leg injury. The Colonels finished with six wins and were the No. 104 team in Georgia, according to the On3 Composite Rankings.
