This season Vestavia Hills (AL) High finished 25-5. Junior 6-foot-3 guard Win Miller averaged 17 points, five rebounds, and five assists per game.

“I’m a big-time scorer on all three levels,” Miller told On3. “I play really fast and am a good passer. I get my teammates involved while putting the ball in the bucket.”

College programs have started to take notice as well. Win Miller spoke exclusively with On3 about which programs are currently standing out.

“I have offers from Virginia Tech, Auburn, Alabama, Samford, Georgia, and Rice. I have not taken any official visits yet, but have taken unofficials to Belmont, Florida State, Auburn, Furman, and Clemson.”

Miller talks recruitment

Auburn: “I really liked my visit there; they’re up the for me for sure. I like how they use their guards and play so fast. It is a perfect system fit for how I play. Coach Steven Pearl stays in contact pretty regularly. I could feel the family vibe in the locker room. The energy on campus, when I visited, was crazy, so that was really cool.”

Alabama: “I talk to coach (Antoine) Pettway a good bit. They play fast and value skill with their guards. They shoot a lot of threes.”

Virginia Tech: “The fit is there for me too. I stay in contact with coach (Kevin) Giltner. I know (head coach) Mike Young is a genius coach. They play fast and shoot a lot of threes, their guards shoot the lights out of the ball, and I could come in and do that for them.”

Clemson: “I went on an unofficial to Clemson last weekend. The facilities were really dope. They beat Virginia Tech in the game I went to, so there was a great atmosphere. They’re another school that fits how I play as a point guard. They just recently started talking to me, so I am excited about continuing to get to know them.”

“Not sure exactly when, but I play to set up official visits soon,” Miller said. “Bucknell and Belmont will definitely be official visit spots for me.”

Miller’s take

“The college I go to needs to have a family feel,” Miller said. “I need to have a good connection with the coach and the staff. I prefer to stay closer to home and play in a fast and free system. Competing in March Madness has always been a dream of mine, so they have to have a winning culture.”
