This winter’s Alabama-Mississippi All-Star Football Classic will be worth watching for Auburn fans.

Three Tiger commits were selected to play in the game for Team Alabama, it was announced Monday.

They are: Montgomery Catholic 4-star running back Jeremiah Cobb, Loachapoka 3-star cornerback Jacorius Hart and Auburn High 3-star offensive lineman Bradyn Joiner.

Additionally, these Auburn targets were chosen to play in the game: Florence 5-star defensive back Jahlil Hurley (Alabama commit), Montgomery Carver 5-star defensive tackle James Smith, Montgomery Carver 5-star edge Qua Russaw, Highland Home 4-star edge/defensive end Keldric Faulk (Florida State commit), Thompson 4-star offensive tackle Stanton Ramil (Michigan State commit) and Selma 4-star safety Dakaari Nelson (Penn State commit).

Per the Montgomery Advertiser, “The Alabama High School Athletic Directors, and Coaches Association’s All-Star Selection Committee selected the participants last week. Alabama defeated the Mississippi all-stars 20-0 last year and holds a 23-8 record in the series. Mississippi last won in 2019.”

The game is Dec. 10 at South Alabama’s Hancock Whitney Stadium.

Cobb, the No. 7 running back in the country for the On3 Consensus, is having another strong season. Thus far, he has 88 carries for 1,180 yards and 19 touchdowns — and nine receptions for 174 yards and four touchdowns. He topped 2,000 rushing yards in each of the past two seasons.

Current statistics for Hart and Joiner are not known.

This is Cobb’s On3 evaluation: “Dynamic back who can get from 0 to 100 in a flash. Shows the ability to accelerate and reach full speed in a hurry. Plays with low pad level and displays tremendous contact balance. Compact build standing at 5-foot-10.5, 185 pounds. Carries his weight well and has good weight distribution throughout his frame. Leg drive allows him to pull through arm tackles and fight for crucial extra yards. Showed off his long speed in track, running a 10.88 second mark in the 100 meters as a sophomore. Shows off his receiving ability by working in the slot often. Has some hip stiffness and makes defenders miss with his footwork more than his fluidity. His ability to hit the hole at full speed and blow through tackles is his greatest asset on first and second down. If he can continue to refine his ability as a pass catcher he can become a true three-down back at the next level.”
