Rock Hill, South Carolina – We are on to day three of the Live Period with the Adidas 3SSB Circuit taking over Rock Hill, South Carolina. On3 National Recruiting Analyst Jamie Shaw is courtside to bring you all the action.

10:05 AM – D1 Minnesota vs. Indiana Elite

The first game of the day piqued my interest with D1 Minnesota’s 4-star Pryce Sandfort. Point guard Taison Chatman was out with injury, so this was a chance to watch Sandford as a primary scoring option.

The 6-foot-6 guard looked comfortable with the ball in his hands. He knocked down three threes, delivered some great passes, and overall looked like the No. 99 ranked player. Clemson head coach Brad Brownell has put a focus on Sandford and teammate Boden Kapke.

Bruce Pearl (Auburn) was also courtside. Coaches from Texas, Cincinnati, Villanova, and Cincinnati saw Sandfort’s 15 points.

11:10 AM New World (DC) vs. Game Elite (GA)

New World 2023 4-star Jamie Kaiser and 2024 No. 11 Khani Rooths took to the arena court for a sizable win to advance in bracket play. Kaiser showcased his smooth skill set, and a pure jump shot leading all scorers with 17 points.

Kaiser has taken official visits to Harvard, Wisconsin, Maryland, and Virginia. Virginia head coach Tony Bennett was in the stands. UCLA had an assistant and Indiana’s Mike Woodson was watching. Woodson is also recruiting the 6-foot-8 Rooths.

Rooths is a long and rangy wing. He can operate off the bounce in the mid-range or finish high above the rim in transition or off cuts to the rim.

3:30 PM Compton Magic (CA) vs. Mass Rivals (MA)

With Koa Peat in Spain with the u17 USA team and Andrej Stojakovic in Greece training, all eyes for Compton Magic were on 2023 4-star Darius Carr. The explosive guard out of California was able to toe the line between facilitator and scorer.

Mass Rivals won the game going away behind 2024 4-star Kur Teng. The long armed shooting guard is a high-IQ wing, moves well off the ball and is a pure jump shooter from multiple levels.

Tony Bennett (Virginia), Brad Brownell (Clemson), Frank Martin (UMass), Mark Fox (Cal), and Archie Miller (Rhode Island) all had courtside seats. Rutgers, UCLA, UConn, Texas A&M, Vanderbilt, Stanford, and Mississippi State had assistants in the mix.

8:00 PM Jalen Green Elite (CA) vs. We All Can Go (TN)

A lot of eyes are on On3’s No. 9 player in 2023 AJ Johnson this week. The 6-foot-5 point guard took the floor in the nightcap and led his team in a close one.

Johnson shows his elite speed everytime he steps on the floor. He also has a crafty handle that gets him to his spots in the half court. Johson was able to touch the paint pretty regularly, but showed that strength will be the step in his development. That will help him finish through contact at the rim.

NC State head coach Kevin Keatts was sitting on the baseline. Texas, LSU, Memphis, and Southern Cal were all three at both of Johnson’s games today as well.

The five-star has yet to take any official visits.
