Carey Booth jumped to No. 80 in the recent 2023 On3 rankings update. The 6-foot-10 forward from Englewood (CO) Cherry Creek High has also seen his recruitment go through the roof.

Booth now carries over 25 offers, most of which came since the start of the April Live Evaluation Period.

Booth talks recruitment

“I have the best relationship with Shaka Smart and Micah Shrewsberry so far,” Booth told On3. “They come to all my games, and we talk all the time; we built a relationship. That is why I visited them first.”

Booth has taken two official visits, Marquette (June 8) and Penn State (May 31). He has one more official visit set and a list of a few schools he is working on setting official dates with

Ohio State is the only official visit I have set right now,” Booth said. I don’t remember the exact date, but I like the staff there and talk with assistant coach Jack Owens a lot.”

Booth’s remaining visits

We don’t have dates yet,” Booth said. “But I am talking with Iowa, Florida, USC, and Missouri. The overall interest of each of these schools makes them stand out. They are all recruiting me hard. I also look at how many times the head coaches come to watch me play.”

On3’s take

Carey Booth has a long and lanky frame with natural athleticism. He plays with a high motor, creating multiple chase-down and weakside blocks. Booth knocked down three or four threes in both games we watched; the release was consistent and high. Booth is still raw as he will need to continue tightening his ball skills and shot selection. He will also need to continue adding weight. However, the intrigue comes with his ability to knock down threes and protect the rim. Continue building on that, and there could be a long and productive career in store.
