4-star CB CJ Bronaugh decommits from Nebraska

Winter Garden (Fla.) Windermere four-star cornerback CJ Bronaugh has decommitted from Nebraska, he told On3’s Hayes Fawcett on Tuesday.
He was pledged to the Cornhuskers since November 26.
Bronaugh is the No. 106 overall prospect and No. 14 CB in the 2026 cycle, according to the On3 Industry Ranking, a weighted average that utilizes all four major recruiting media companies. He’s also the No. 12 player in Florida.
The 6-foot-1 defensive back is now back on the board as plenty of programs have remained in pursuit of his pledge despite his previous longtime commitment to Nebraska. He is fresh off a visit to Florida State over the weekend, and according to GatorsOnline’s Corey Bender, Bronaugh was back on campus in Gainesville on Tuesday before he announced his decommitment.
He took an official visit with the Gators earlier this month, and they’re currently the favorites to land him in the On3 Recruiting Prediction Machine (RPM).

That comes after an expert pick from On3 VP of Recruiting Steve Wiltfong was logged following Bronaugh’s announcement.
Scout’s Take on CJ Bronaugh
Upon making a big jump in the On300 rankings earlier this year, Bronaugh earned high praise from On3 Director of Scouting and Rankings Charles Power:
“CJ Bronaugh is one of the fastest prospects in the cycle,” Power wrote. “I think he would contend as the fastest prospect we’ve seen to this point in the cycle, at least among blue-chip types. State champion in the 100 and 200-meters and has already ran a 10.3 time in the 100-meters as a junior. In addition to the high-end speed, he played really well as a junior, came down with six interceptions and looks to have solid size. You look at his elite athleticism, combined with the ball skills, those are attributes we value at the corner position.”
