4-star CB Preston Ashley commits to Colorado: 'It's a great for me'

Brandon (Miss.) four-star cornerback Preston Ashley gave Colorado the final official visit on his schedule this month, and it paid off for the Buffaloes.
Ashley committed to CU over fellow finalists Florida and Florida State, along with offers from more than 20 other programs. The visit last weekend solidified everything he had been feeling about Deion Sanders’ program.
“The visit is what did it,” he told On3. “It was first time there, and everything was right. I fit like a glove there with the system they run. Coach Livingston put Travis Hunter and other guys in position to make plays, and I think I can do that, too.”
He loves what he sees in the program, but he also likes his future in Boulder. Spending time around the city, it’s a place he can see himself in.
“It is just a great fit for me — both the football and the environment,” he added. “I love the city and surroundings, and everything is right for me there.”

Ashley already had confidence in what he was feeling about Colorado, but the visit and spending time with the coaching staff sold him.
“The staff has been great. I had that gut feeling before the visit, and when I got there, I knew it was home.”
Ashley is the No. 249 overall prospect in the 2026 class, according to the On3 Industry Ranking, a weighted average that utilizes all four major recruiting media companies. He ranks as the nation’s No. 22 cornerback and No. 11 player in Mississippi.
