Camden (S.C.) four-star defensive lineman Xzavier McLeod is ready to make his college commitment.

On Sunday afternoon, the 6-foot-4, 325-pounder announce that he will go public with his decision this coming Thursday a 5:00 p.m. ET. In late June, McLeod named his top six schoolsGeorgia, Florida, LSU, Michigan, South Carolina and Texas A&M — and will be choosing between them in a ceremony at his high school stadium.

In-state South Carolina currently holds a big lead in the race to land him, according to the On3 Recruiting Prediction Machine (RPM). It gives the Gamecocks an 85.4 percent chance of securing his commitment, with Georgia, LSU and Michigan trailing far behind.

McLeod has yet to take an official visit to Columbia, but has been on campus more than a half dozen times as a recruit. In naming his top six, he also broke down what it is about the Gamecocks that stands out.

“The home school has the advantage,” he told On3’s Jeremy Johnson. “You will always be loved by your hometown and I think Shane Beamer is really building a program. That’s a good environment to be in.”

Xzavier McLeod is the No. 201 overall prospect in the 2023 class, according to the On3 Consensus, a complete and equally weighted industry-generated average that utilizes all four major recruiting media companies. He also ranks as the country’s No. 25 defensive lineman and the No. 3 senior in South Carolina.
