Gardena (Calif.) Junipero Serra four-star defensive lineman Khary Wilder has seen a major shakeup in his recruitment over the past month.

At one time, he planned to take his official visits to Arizona, UCLA, USC and Washington. But he’s become a national prospect since then, garnering offers from the likes of Notre Dame and Ohio State. With that, his official visit schedule has changed.

Wilder told BlueandGold.com’s Mike Singer that he will now make stops at Ohio State (May 31), UCLA (June 6), Notre Dame (June 13) and Washington (June 21). Official visits with the Wildcats and Trojans are no longer on the docket for this summer.

USC in particular was considered a strong contender due to its proximity to home, but the Trojans already have a combined eight commitments between the defensive line and EDGE positions.

“When they came to Serra recently, they told me that I’m still a priority for them and they’re taking a couple more D-line recruits in the class,” he told Singer. “I’m taking into account how full the position room is at each school and what the depth chart looks like.”

With one of the local schools now on the outside looking in, both Midwest programs are hoping to make a move over the next month with their official visits.

Wilder says both were pushing hard to get him in for official visits, and he is one the phone regularly with Notre Dame’s staff. His primary point-of-contact is defensive line assistant Nick Sebastian, who he’s built a strong connection to.

“Coach Sebastian has been reaching out to me a lot,” he said. “When I took my visit, I got to chop it up with him, and he broke down film for me. He’s a great coach and mentor. I like how thoroughly he broke down my film and evaluated me as a player. He gave me things to work on and is definitely a key figure at Notre Dame. I’m building a good relationship with him.”

Over the course of three varsity seasons at Serra, Wilder has amassed 190 tackles and 31 tackles for loss while starting in every game he has played. On top of that, he has totaled 19 sacks and an eye-popping 69 quarterback hurries.

The 6-foot-4, 255-pounder is the No. 247 overall prospect and No. 24 defensive lineman in the 2026 class, according to the On3 Industry Ranking, a weighted average that utilizes all four major recruiting media companies.
