Oklahoma State was the first of nearly 30 schools to offer Owasso (Okla.) four-star defensive lineman Tajh Overton. That “meant everything” to the 6-foot-2.5, 275-pound recruit.

At one time, Oklahoma – the Cowboys’ in-state rival – led in the recruitment of Overton. Yet about a week ago, he knew Oklahoma State was the school for him and he has now committed to the Big 12 program.

“One of the biggest reasons why I chose Oklahoma State is my love for the coaching staff,” Overton told On3. “I love the town of Stillwater and the environment around there too. Also, the people there stand out to me and played a role in my decision.”

Overton chose the Cowboys over Oklahoma and Ole Miss. The No. 3 player in Oklahoma is now “done” with his recruitment and is looking forward to playing for head coach Mike Gundy and defensive line coach Ryan Osborn

“Coach Osborn was my lead recruiter,” said Overton. “I have the best relationship with coach Osborn and I really like how smart he is and his knowledge of the game.”

“I like coach Gundy a lot,” he added. “He’s super real. He and Oklahoma State have been super real to me.”
