Fort Pierce (Fla.) Vero Beach four-star interior offensive lineman Micah Smith has committed to UCLA, he announced on Saturday.

He chose the Bruins over Illinois, Ohio State, Tennessee and others.

Smith is the No. 197 overall prospect and No. 13 IOL in the 2026 cycle, according to the On3 Industry Ranking, a weighted average that utilizes all four major recruiting media companies. He’s also the No. 26 player in Florida.

The Bruins got Smith to Los Angeles for an official visit in May and that trip made an impact on his recruiting process. Head coach DeShaun Foster and the UCLA staff picked up momentum from there and have now landed a crucial pledge.

As a junior, Smith was a key cog for a Vero Beach team that finished with nine wins. The Fighting Indians finished as the No. 69 team in the Sunshine State, per the On3 Composite Rankings.

“Relationships are important when I commit. The development is too. It is not only the development on the field as a player, but off the field as a man too,” Smith told On3 at the end of December during Under Armour All-America week.

Bruins have Top-25 recruiting class this cycle

With Smith now committed, UCLA has the No. 22 class in the On3 Industry Team Recruiting Rankings. He’s one of nine commits on the pledge list thus far.

On Sept. 30, Provo (Utah) Timpview twin wide receivers Jaron and Kennan Pula each committed. Jaron is a four-star and the highest-ranked commit in the class, checking in as the No. 356 overall recruit. Kennan, a three-star, is the No. 425 prospect in the nation.

The Pula brothers are two of four receivers in the class already. Stockton (Calif.) St. Mary’s three-star Kenneth Moore and Irvine (Calif.) Santa Margarita Catholic three-star Jonah Smith are also in the fold.

Irvine (Calif.) Crean Lutheran three-star defensive lineman Anthony Jones, Medina (Tenn.) South Gibson three-star DL Yahya Gaad and Littleton (Colo.) Heritage three-star tight end Camden Jensen are other new additions to the class following commitments last month. Gaad is a former SMU commit.

“It is a great fit for me,” Jones told On3’s Chad Simmons about his decision. “I was at UCLA a few weeks ago and I love it up there. Their staff has been hard on me for a while and it is really like home for me there. I have known multiple coaches on that staff for years. They have recruited me for years and they just make it feel natural for me to be there.”
