Justin McBride, a 6-foot-7 power forward out of Dallas (Texas) Plano Senior has decided to reopen his recruitment and is now open to all programs.

“I have decided to reopen my recruitment. I’m no longer down to four schools, and now open to all programs,” McBride said in a statement.

In September, the Consensus four-star announced he was down to four programs: Arkansas, Kansas, Missouri, and Texas Tech.

McBride and his family have a close relationship with former Missouri head coach Cuonzo Martin. The Tigers were the heavy favorite to land McBride before Martin was fired earlier this month. Mizzou is also the only college that’s hosted him for a visit, both unofficially and officially.

McBride talks previous final four

In a previous interview with On3, McBride discussed each of the four programs involved in his recruitment.

Missouri: “It’s a great school. I have a lot of family in Columbia. My grandma is just down the street from there. I’ve been knowing their coach (Cuonzo Martin) since I was little. There’s just been a mutual relationship between us and my parents.”

Texas Tech: “I’ve been knowing Coach Sean Sutton since my sophomore year. We have a great relationship too, we talk all the time.”

Arkansas: “Coach (Eric) Musselman and me talk all the time, along with my pops. They show me a lot of film and teach me their offense sets.”

Kansas: “They came in after I had a wonderful camp at Pangos and they offered me when they heard I was going to Oak Hill. I talk to their head coach (Bill Self) and we have a great relationship. I talk to a couple of assistants too, it’s just been great.”

It should also be noted that McBride transferred mid-year from Oak Hill Academy, back home to play at Plano Senior high school.

McBride is ranked as the No. 99 overall prospect in the 2023 On3 Consensus.
