Frisco (Texas) Reedy four-star interior offensive lineman Max Anderson released his top 12 schools on Feb. 10, and now he is down to eight.

On Thursday Anderson announced his top eight schools, a list that includes: Alabama, Arkansas, Georgia, Tennessee, Michigan, Oklahoma, Oregon and Ohio State.

Michigan trending as the favorite to land Anderson

According to the On3 Recruiting Prediction Machine, the Wolverines have a commanding lead for Anderson’s commitment at 89.8% following an expert prediction from On3’s Sam Spiegelman. The 6-foot-5, 300-pounder was in Ann Arbor recently and will return for an official visit on the weekend of June 17.

“I’m dropping a top eight soon and they’ll be in there,” Anderson told TheWolverine.com’s EJ Holland earlier this month. “It’s pretty obvious why. The offensive line has always been so good. Winning back-to-back Joe Moore Awards has never been done, so I like that aspect.”

“Coach (Sherrone) Moore has come down to my school two times,” he added. “My coaches and I really like him and respect him a lot. We’re slowly building this relationship up. He’s a really nice and respectable person. If I don’t respect a guy, I’m not going to play as well for him. I could see myself playing really hard for Coach Moore.”

Oregon a recent contender in his recruitment

Anderson added an offer from Oregon recently after a strong effort from staffer Cutter Leftwich, who like the four-star IOL hails from the Dallas Metroplex.

The On300 lineman will get his first look at Eugene on April 15.

“When Coach (Adrian) Klemm took the job with the Patriots, Coach Leftwich and I were talking a a lot and he’s from Denton. I’ve known him for a long time and we’ve built a grea trelationshp. My dad and I both like him, and he didn’t have the authority to offer, so he got multiple assistant coaches to offer,” Anderson recalled.

… I’ve been talking to Coach Leftwich a bunch and I’ve heard good stuff about Eugene, Coach (Dan) Lanning, and it’s still unreal that schools like Oregon I grew up watching are telling me I’m at the top of their board. It’s surreal to me, and I can’t wait to get up there.”

Anderson is the No. 188 overall prospect and No. 11 interior offensive lineman in the 2024 cycle, according to the On3 Industry Ranking, a weighted average that utilizes all four major recruiting media companies. He is also the No. 36 player in Texas.
