Hillside (N.J.) St. Peters Prep four-star safety Jayden Bonsu will be announcing his commitment on Aug. 14. He revealed the news over social media.

Bonsu is the No. 264 overall prospect and No. 20 safety in the 2023 On3 Consensus, a complete and equally weighted industry-generated average that utilizes all four major recruiting media companies. He is rated even higher by On3’s rankings as the No. 152 overall prospect, the No. 13 safety and the No. 2 player in New Jersey.

The 6-foot-1, 205 pound defensive back originally planned to reveal his college decision on July 20. That was after moving it up a month from Aug. 20.

Bonsu is deciding between Alabama, MiamiMichigan State, Ohio State and Penn State. According the On3 Recruiting Prediction Machine, the Hurricanes have a commanding lead for Bonsu’s services at 94.2%. The four-star told On3’s Chad Simmons earlier this month that he is down to two schools.

RPM was released to the public in December. The On3 engineering group teamed up with Spiny.ai to create the industry’s first algorithm and machine learning-based product to predict where athletes will attend college.

It factors in machine learning, social sentiment, visits and historical trends. However, expert predictions are still a big piece of the RPM equation.

Bonsu has an On3 NIL Valuation of $19.6K. The On3 NIL Valuation is an index that looks to set the standard market value for both high school and college-level athletes. The NIL valuation does not act as a tracker of the value of NIL deals an athlete has completed to date. It rather signifies an athlete’s value at a certain moment in time.
