Kohl Rosario has committed to Kansas and will reclassify to 2025, he told On3. The 6-foot-4 shooting guard will forgo his senior year of high school at Moravian Prep (NC) and play for Bill Self and the Jayhawks this coming season.

Rosario, a native of Miami, chose Kansas over offers from Oregon, Duke, Miami, Florida State, and others.

Rosario’s high level of play this summer led him to jump 64 spots in the On3 Player Rankings, all the way to No. 27 nationally. His ranking will now be re-evaluated with his move into the 2025 class.

Ranking Update: Rosario has now been ranked by On3 as the No. 54 overall player in the 2025 class.

Rosario is the fourth incoming freshman for KU. He joins Five-Star Plus+ SG Darryn Peterson, four-star PF Samis Calderon, and three-star SG Corbin Allen.

Rosario a standout at EYBL Memphis

On3’s Jamie Shaw found Rosario to be one of the top performers at EYBL Memphis last month:

One of the breakout players of the summer at this point, Kohl Rosario, has shown an intriguing mix of efficient shooting touch and twitchy explosion at the rim. Listed at 6-foot-5, he started the weekend with a 28-point outburst that set the tone.

Rosario is your consummate shooting guard. He has explosive pop at the rim with good length and a smooth shooting stroke. He plays with great balance off ball and finds himself shot ready as the ball finds his hands. While he still needs to continue tightening his shot creation, he has become an intriguing play finisher, either above the rim or in catch-and-shoot situations.

He is shooting 44.4 percent from three on the season for Team CP3. Many of his looks are off the catch, or stepping into them, where he takes them with natural balance and a consistent release. Rosario has nice length and he is an explosive athlete. He gives good effort on the defensive end and he is an active rebounder in his area. While he will need to continue working on his handle, self-creating advantages in the half-court, he does not force things, playing within his means, playing 83 total minutes this weekend and only having two turnovers.
