4-star WR Corey Barber commits to Ole Miss: 'They made me feel like a priority'

Hoover (Ala.) Spain Park wide receiver Corey Barber has committed to Ole Miss. He took an unofficial to Oxford early in April. He returned late last month for his official visits. Those trips pushed the Rebels to the top of his list.
“I started thinking about this commitment before my official visit, but when I left that, it really opened my eyes and I knew it was home from the moment I left,” Barber told On3. “I like the vibes in Oxford. It’s a real chill environment, everybody treats you like family and it’s a great community.”
Ole Miss beat out multiple schools for the No. 264 prospect in the On3 Industry Ranking. Alabama was a school of interest. He had official visits to Georgia, Miami and Tennessee lined up to as well. The coaching staff made a big impact in this decision.
“Coach Kiffin to me is one of the greats. Getting to play for him is going to be big, and when it comes to experience and winning, he is a guy that has to be mentioned.
“I feel like coach McDonald is one of the best in the game. Seeing the production his wide receivers have shows me a lot. We have a great relationship and I feel he has been genuine throughout my whole process.

“Coach Weiss is great too. During the time I spent with him, you can tell he was passionate about the game. That’s what you like to see in a coordinator.”
“They recruited me hard since January. They made me feel like a priority and the bond with the coaching staff has been tight ever since.”
Ole Miss had what Barber was looking for in the end.
“Wide receiver production, the offensive scheme, player development and how genuine the people around the program are other things I like about Ole Miss,” Barber said.
