IMG Academy (Fla.) four-star wide receiver Jerrae Hawkins was set to make his college decision on June 26. That date has now changed.

The 5-foot-9, 160-pound pass-catcher will instead announce his decision on July 1. He’ll pick between Florida, Miami and Penn State.

“I just want to be fully prepared, so I’m going to give myself about a week after my last official visit to make my kind up,” Hawkins told On3. “I will take more time, think on it a little longer, then be ready.

“With each of the three schools, I like a lot of the same things about each.”

Penn State will be the last stop Hawkins makes during June as he takes his official visit to Happy Valley on June 23. It will mark his fifth trip to campus and first since April 15.

Miami was the first of Hawkins top schools to host him as he was in Coral Gables on June 2. A week later he was at Florida. Both trips were the second time each he had visited the schools.

According to the On3 Recruiting Prediction Machine (RPM), Penn State stands as the favorite to land Hawkins’ pledge. The Nittany Lions’ odds are currently at 41.1%.

Florida sits in second according to the RPM at 20.8% while Miami sits in a close third at 17.8%.

Hawkins is the No. 233 overall prospect and No. 39 wide receiver in the 2024 cycle, according to the On3 Industry Ranking, a weighted average that utilizes all four major recruiting media companies. He is also the No. 34 player in Florida.

Hawkins breaks down his top three

Florida: “The player development at Florida stands out. They also have good history at producing receivers and their track program is big too because I want to run track in college.”

Miami: “I like the system at Miami. Coach Dawson runs a great offense and I like how he gets receivers open to make plays.”

Penn State: “I like the offense, I have a good bond with the coaches and I love the staff.”
