Ian Jackson is the No. 2 ranked player in On3’s 2024 rankings. With that target on his back, through the first two Adidas 3SSB sessions, Jackson has averaged 16.8 points, 5.0 rebounds, 4.3 assists, and 2.5 steals per game.

“I watch a lot of Shai Gilgeous Alexander,” Jackson told On3. “I feel like we have a similar frame. He gets to his spots well, which I want to keep working on.”

Since talking to Jackson during the first April live evaluation period (READ HERE) Jackson picked up some significant offers. On3 sat down with Ian Jackson during the second Adidas 3SSB stop to talk about the recent offers and his plans for the summer.

“I picked up offers from UCLA, Kansas, and Oregon after the first live period,” Jackson said. “The two schools I want to see right now are UCLA and Oregon. I want to get out to the west coast, never been to these schools, and see what they’re like.”

Jackson talks recruitment

Kansas: “I just started watching Kansas this season when they went on the big run to win March Madness. I saw how they’re coached hard, and the players play hard. They get after it.”

Oregon: “They called to offer me. They let me know I am high on their radar. The coach wanted to get someone from the east coast, and they found me. They think I can be the next big piece for their program.”

UCLA: “They are looking forward to getting me on campus this summer, seeing everything they have to offer. We have been talking about how their program runs. They tell me how they will watch me all summer and hope it shows me how much they want me to go to their school.”

Jackson’s take

“I will be looking for a place that feels like home,” Jackson said. “They have a good team and a good coaching staff who builds a relationship with me and makes me feel like a part of their program.”

On3’s take

Ian Jackson is a high-level athlete. He has long arms, broad shoulders, and explosive athleticism in the paint. Jackson has confidence with the ball in his hands, he is decisive in getting downhill to the rim. He can rise up and finish above the rim, and pull up in the mid-range with an assortment of floaters and pull-ups. Jackson is a capable shooter from three, but he still needs polish with this part of his game. His shot selection can get a little wild at times. He is comfortable on the ball, but would like to see him see the floor better. He has natural athletic tools and the utmost confidence. Jackson can be a high-level defender who gives great effort.
