Donda Academy five-star point guard Robert Dillingham out of Charlotte, N.C., has decommitted from NC State, announcing the news on his Instagram page Saturday.

“After careful consideration, I have decided to reopen my college recruitment,” Dillingham said. “While NC State is still an option, I would like to explore all of my options.”

Dillingham originally committed to the Wolfpack on Dec. 1, 2021. NC State now has zero recruits in the 2023 recruiting class.

He is the No. 4 overall recruit in the 2023 cycle, according to the On3 Consensus, a complete and equally weighted industry-generated average that utilizes all four major recruiting media companies.

“Dillingham has a microwave ability that has been unmatched, to this point, by any of his classmates,” On3 National Recruiting Analyst Jamie Shaw said. “While the 6-foot-3 guard is an average athlete and has average size and length for a shooting guard, it is his craft and his confidence that allows him to get hot. Dillingham can manufacture space off the bounce and get his shot off with the slightest of room. He is a below-average defender. While it is all centered around skill, there is an electric nature to his game. He can get hot in the blink of an eye and his next shot is always the best shot. Dillingham will need strength, and with that may come more explosion.”

Robert Dillingham currently has an On3 NIL Valuation of $125k, which ranks 10th among high school basketball players. The On3 NIL Valuation is an index that looks to set the standard market value for both high school and college-level athletes. The NIL valuation does not act as a tracker of the value of NIL deals an athlete has completed to date. It rather signifies an athlete’s value at a certain moment in time.
