5-star Richard Young tweets at Arch Manning ahead of Alabama visit
Lehigh Acres (Fla.) Lehigh Senior five-star running back Richard Young is taking his official visit to Alabama on the weekend of June 10.
There is one fellow recruit he is really looking forward to seeing: New Orleans Isidore Newman Five-Star Plus+ quarterback Arch Manning.
Young tweeted Wednesday at Manning saying, “see you June 10th” followed by a big smile emoji.
This comes just one day after Zachary (La.) four-star quarterback Eli Holstein committed to the Crimson Tide, leaving people to wonder whether Manning will take his official visit to the school. But On3’s Sam Spiegelman reported that Manning is still planning on visiting the school that weekend.
Holstein is also playing to visit that weekend.
Both Manning and Young are the No. 1 players at their positions in the 2023 cycle, according to the On3 Consensus, a complete and equally weighted industry-generated average that utilizes all four major recruiting media companies.
Manning is the No. 1 overall recruit and Young slots in at No. 25. Both are also ranked in the top 25 in On3 NIL Valuation among high school football players.
Young’s official visit to Alabama comes during a busy June for the Florida native. He will be taking all five of his official visits during the month.
“Alabama is definitely RBU and they produce the best backs,” Young said.
Manning is also taking multiple official visits during the month. In addition to the Crimson Tide, he is also visiting Georgia and Texas. The Longhorns and Bulldogs are the current favorites for Manning, with Texas slightly ahead, according to the On3 Recruiting Prediction Machine
