The best available center in the class of 2022, four-star Adrame Diongue, has narrowed his list to five schools – Kentucky, Kansas, Texas Tech, UNLV, and Washington State.

The newest addition to Diongue’s recruitment is no other than the University of Kentucky. The Wildcats have not yet offered, but assistant coach Chin Coleman connected with the seven-footer earlier in the week and expressed UK’s interest in him.

The AZ Compass Prep big man will no longer consider Texas, Maryland, Oregon State, and Illinois.

Diongue talks visits/schools

Diongue, the No. 59 prospect in the On3 Consensus, still has all five of his official visits available. He plans to schedule some trips early next week (March 14).

The four schools that have been on Diongue the longest are Kansas, Texas Tech, UNLV, and Washington State. He discussed several of the programs with On3.

UNLV: “Me and UNLV have a great relationship. We talk a lot. They came to one of my games just over a week ago.”

Kansas: “They also came to one of my games a few weeks ago.

“I really like them because they know how to develop a big. I also like how they use their bigs.” (Quote from Jamie Shaw)

Texas Tech: “I have a great relationship with them.

“They play great defense; I like that. They know how to play with the bigs in the pick and roll too.” (Quote from Jamie Shaw)

Diongue, who’s only been playing basketball for three years, described his game to On3’s Jamie Shaw.

“I run the floor well, grab rebounds and block everything,” he said. “I’m reading the game better now and showing more on offense. I watch Kevin Garnett, the way he tries to dunk the ball every time he touches it; I’m trying to do that…I grew up playing soccer. Soccer helped me with being able to get up and down the floor and with my quickness and defense.”

Scouting Report

On3’s Jamie Shaw recently evaluated Diongue and spoke highly about the four-star big man’s potential:

There is something about a player who continues to improve each time they step on the floor. Adrame Diongue is like a blank canvas right now, and all the tools are available. Diongue has good size and length; he is extremely mobile, with excellent timing. The 7-footer has touch from the free-throw line and is developing a face-up game. He will need to continue getting stronger and working on his offensive repertoire, but the strides he continues to make are very promising.
