On Monday, On3 updated its class of 2025 player rankings and extended the list from 50 to 75 players. This is the second update for the 2025 class, and the movement and additions are based on 1) in-person player evaluations from the first half of the high school season and 2) film study and intel gathered on prospects since the last update.

Updated 2025 On3 75 player rankings

Since the last update in November, the On3 team attended high school events and games across the country. With multiple showcases taking place every week(end), On3 has also collected streams and film to comb through the maximum exposure of countless events and players.

The ranking process is a continual and often fluid one. On3 starts ranking recruits as sophomores. That recruit can look a lot different for our final ranking after their senior year championships and all-star games are played.

We have spent the last several weeks working on this 2025 update, so it will reflect the most accurate and current representation of the recruiting cycle. This work has resulted in 31 players making their debuts in the 2025 On3 75. We have also continued collecting viewings and data on the previously ranked players, putting eyes on players throughout the 2025 On3 75.

These prospects are completing their sophomore years of high school. Our next class of 2025 ranking update will come prior to the July live recruiting period.

The goal of rankings at On3 is to assess a prospect’s long-term potential. As we continue forward, a player’s performance on the court and their continued growth will outweigh these early rankings. Again, every player’s arc is different, and each ranking is a snapshot in time.

Grading the 2023 On3 150

The basketball player rankings scale is as follows: Five-star prospects have grades 98-100, four-star recruits have grades 90-97, and 80-89 grades are for three stars.

The first seven prospects are five stars with a rating of 98 or higher. The rankings for current cycles will be updated on a regular schedule throughout the year, with around 20 five stars by the final ranking of a cycle. Our goal is to assess a prospect’s long-term potential in college basketball, ultimately manifested by the NBA draft.

The Race for No. 1

Of all the classes and all the rankings updates we have had at On3, the process behind naming the No. 1 player for this 2025 update was the longest. There are two players in the conversation, and each of them made very loud, very compelling arguments for themselves this season.

Cooper Flagg held the No. 1 spot in the 2025 ranking debut, and Cameron Boozer was No. 2. While the construct of each player’s team was different, both of them played national schedules, consistently performed at a high level, and won.

Boozer is a 6-foot-8 forward at Miami (Fla.) Christopher Columbus High. He averaged 21.3 points, 11.2 rebounds, 4.2 assists, 2.0 blocks, and shot 63 percent from the field and 41.6 percent from three. They finished the season 24-4.

Flagg is a 6-foot-8 wing at No. 1-ranked Montverde (Fla.) Academy. He finished top three on the team in points (9.8), rebounds (5.2), and assists (3.0) while leading the way in steals (1.6) and blocks (2.2) for the 26-2 program, with nine other high major players on the roster.

New five-stars

With the rankings expanding from 50 to 75, the five-star line also expanded from three to seven. No players dropped out of the five-star range for this update, so Cameron Boozer, Cooper Flagg, and Isaiah Harwell maintained their status.

The play and growth of four players this season earned them their fifth star in his 2025 On3 75 update.

Strong NBA ties

We are to the point, well at least I am of the age, that the players I grew up watching and enjoying are having kids of their own who are becoming prospects. This class is not unique to that; however, star power is pretty impressive in this class.

At the top of the class, you have Cameron Boozer. The 6-doot-8 forward from Miami (FL) Christopher Columbus High is the son of former NBA All-Star Carlos Boozer. Cameron’s twin brother Cayden Boozer, a 6-foot-3 point guard, checks in at No. 23 in the On3 2025 75 update.

Carlos Boozer’s twin sons are a good start, but there is more. Making his debut at No. 25 in the rankings is Dominique Wilkins‘ son, Jacob Wilkins. He is a 6-foot-8 small forward from Lilburn (GA) Parkview High.

Coming in at No. 59 is Kiyan Anthony. Anthony, the son of Carmelo Anthony, is a 6-foot-3 shooting guard from Long Island (NY) Long Island Lutheran. At No. 71 is Jermaine O’Neal, Jr., a 6-foot-5 shooting guard at Dallas (TX) Dynamic Prep. He is the son of Jermaine O’Neal.

Rounding out this list is, at No. 73 is Bryce James, the youngest son of LeBron James. James is a 6-foot-3 guard at Chatsworth (CA) Sierra Canyon and the younger brother of Bronny James.

Debuts in the top 50

In all, this update debuted 31 players in the 2025 On3 75. Eleven of those 31 made their debuts in the top 50 of the class. NBA Academy Africa center, 7-foot-1 Khaman Maluada, made the highest debut at No. 11.

The other players debuting inside the top 50.
